This Privacy Policy explains how Ravine DSP Limited ("Ravine DSP," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with Inter::State, Inter::State[Bridge], plugin scanning utilities, background helper applications, installers, websites, licensing services, support, and related documentation (collectively, the "Software").
1. Who We Are
Ravine DSP Limited is the developer and publisher of Inter::State.
Contact: admin@ravinedsp.com
2. Information the Software Stores Locally
The Software may store information locally on your computer so that it can operate correctly, remember your preferences, manage plugin scanning, and maintain licensing/runtime state.
This local data may include:
- Software settings and preferences.
- Licence or activation-related state.
- Plugin scan requests, scan results, scan logs, blocked plugin lists, and scanner status files.
- Plugin names, plugin identifiers, plugin paths, plugin format information, and plugin compatibility status.
- Macro mapping defaults, user mappings, plugin mapping preferences, and related configuration.
- Factory asset references and runtime metadata.
- Temporary files, lock files, shared memory state, and inter-process communication artefacts used by companion features.
Typical local storage locations include:
- macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/InterState/ - Windows:
%APPDATA%\InterState\ - Machine-wide installer assets on macOS:
/Library/Application Support/InterState/ - Machine-wide installer assets on Windows:
%ProgramData%\InterState\
Local runtime data is normally stored on your computer and is not automatically uploaded by Inter::State unless a feature, licensing service, support action, crash-reporting flow, update mechanism, or other service specifically does so.
3. Plugin Scanning and Third-Party Plugins
Inter::State can scan and host third-party audio plugins installed on your computer.
During plugin scanning, the Software may inspect plugin files, plugin metadata, plugin names, plugin identifiers, plugin formats, plugin paths, plugin capabilities, plugin parameters, validation results, and crash/failure status. This information is used to build and maintain your local plugin list and to improve stability by avoiding known-bad or failed plugins.
Third-party plugins may have their own copy-protection systems, activation systems, network behaviour, telemetry, file access, or privacy practices. Ravine DSP Limited does not control third-party plugins loaded into or scanned by Inter::State.
You are responsible for ensuring that the third-party plugins you install, scan, and load are legally licensed, compatible, stable, and safe to use.
4. Local Communication and Shared Memory
Certain Inter::State features, including Inter::State[Bridge], use local inter-process communication to synchronise control data, MIDI/control messages, and plugin-instance state between plugin instances running on the same computer.
These mechanisms may include:
- OSC/UDP over localhost or local network interfaces.
- Memory-mapped files.
- Named shared memory objects.
- Temporary files.
- Lock files.
- Operating-system process and file APIs.
This local communication is intended to remain on your computer or local host environment. It is not designed to transmit your personal audio data over the internet.
Your operating system, firewall, DAW, or security software may display prompts or restrict this communication.
5. Activation and Licence Validation
The Software may use third-party licensing infrastructure, including Moonbase, to activate, validate, deactivate, verify, and manage your licence, trial, subscription, or other entitlement.
Activation and licence validation may involve internet communication and may process information such as:
- Licence keys, activation tokens, or entitlement identifiers.
- Product identifiers and product version.
- Activation status, trial status, subscription status, or validation result.
- Device, installation, or machine identifiers.
- Operating system and platform information.
- IP address and network metadata visible to the licensing service.
- Timestamps, validation logs, diagnostic responses, and error states.
This information is used to provide licensing, prevent unauthorised use, manage activations, provide trials or subscriptions, troubleshoot activation issues, and protect the Software.
Moonbase and any other licensing providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
6. Website, Purchases, and Payments
If you purchase Inter::State, create an account, join a beta, download an installer, contact support, subscribe to updates, or use a Ravine DSP website, we may process information you provide or that is generated by those interactions.
This may include:
- Name, email address, company name, and contact details.
- Purchase records, invoice information, licence entitlement information, and refund/support history.
- Account identifiers, download records, and beta participation details.
- Messages, attachments, logs, crash reports, screenshots, diagnostics, or other information you send to support.
- Website usage information, cookie data, analytics data, device/browser information, and IP address, depending on the website configuration.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers, merchant-of-record services, app stores, or ecommerce platforms. We do not need to receive or store your full payment card details when those payments are handled by third-party payment processors.
7. Support, Diagnostics, and Crash Information
If you contact us for support, we may ask you to provide information needed to diagnose the issue.
This may include:
- Your operating system, DAW, plugin format, Inter::State version, and hardware/audio configuration.
- Licence or activation status.
- Plugin scan logs, plugin names, plugin paths, blocked plugin lists, or scanner results.
- Crash logs, DAW logs, screenshots, screen recordings, or reproduction steps.
- Project/session details you choose to share.
Please do not send confidential projects, private audio files, personal data, or third-party proprietary materials unless they are necessary for support and you are authorised to share them.
8. Audio and Project Content
Inter::State processes audio and plugin-chain data locally inside your DAW or plugin host environment.
We do not intentionally collect or upload your audio recordings, DAW projects, presets, plugin chains, MIDI performances, or creative work through the core plugin processing path.
If you choose to send audio files, project files, presets, screenshots, logs, or videos to us for support, we will use them for support, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and related communication.
